The Old Dominion University Industrial/Organizational Psychology program is seeking out qualified undergraduate students to assist with groundbreaking research. Undergraduate Research Apprentices (URAs) will have the unique opportunity to play an active role in current research studies, gain valuable insight into the research process, create and develop their own research ideas, and establish working relationships with department mentors.

URAs will earn $1,000 by working 10 hours per week for 12 weeks during the Spring 2015 semester.

Research Focus

Selected apprentices will have the to opportunity to work with one of the following four research labs within the I/O program:

  1. Dr. Major's Career Development Lab
  2. Dr. Landers' Technology iN Training Lab
  3. Dr. Cigularov's Safety Management Applied Research Team
  4. Dr. Hu's Workplace Affect & Relations Lab

Qualifications

  1. Current Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior status
  2. Minimum GPA of 3.25
  3. Successful completion of PSY 201 (Introduction to Psychology) or equivalent
  4. Good oral and written communication skills
  5. Statement of interest detailing the anticipated benefits of participating in the URAP
